The ECCE Scheme

Cranford Montessori Schools are delighted to be participating in the Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE). This scheme provides one year "free" Pre-school education to every child in Ireland who is older than 3 years 2 months and younger than 4 years 6 months on the 1st September each year.

There are 2 options for eligible children in the ECCE:

  • Option 1 - A fully subsidised sessional care option
  • Option 2 - A partly subsidised full day care or part-time day care option

Option 1

  • This is a fully subsidised sessional care option
  • The free pre school year is a 3 hours per day, 5 days per week option; offered over 38 weeks within the academic year from September to June of each year
  • Outside the provision of classroom activities, Cranford may be able, depending on availability, to provide extra hours of care and dinner for your child if you so wish
  • Summer camps and mid term care are also offered at an extra cost
  • Cranford require a registration fee and a voluntary contribution from parents, twice per academic year

Option 2

  • This is a subsidy of €48.50 per week which partly covers full day care fees
  • The subsidy is available for 50 weeks, running from September until the end of August each year
  • Cranford fees are calculated on a monthly basis and the monthly ECCE subsidy is calculated by multiplying the weekly subsidy, €48.50 by 50 weeks and dividing it by 12 months. This monthly subsidy of €202 will be deducted off the monthly crèche fee.

Parents are reminded that places in the ECCE Scheme are limited and subject to availability. Parents will need to complete a Registration Form and provide their child's PPS number.
